Conflict and Unity Reading Group
Want to learn more church history? Looking for a group of friends to read intriguing primary sources critically? Tired of vitriolic theological discourse on the internet? Fantastic! This fall, the Telos Center is pleased to announce a new reading group on conflicts throughout church history! We’ll start with Acts and Paul’s famous confrontation of Peter, and then move onwards. How was the date of Pascha determined? How was the longest schism in modern Orthodoxy mended? We’ll tackle all of this and more, not from the perspective of “how to solve problems,” but rather “How has the Church approached different problems throughout history?” This will not be a study of the ecumenical councils; instead, we’ll be examining some of the smaller, but no less important, disputes in our history. All are welcome. Click here to sign up! We will email out the itinerary to all who sign up. If you’re on the fence about coming orn not, by all means, just sign up, get the stuff, and then come when you can.
